Most domain transfers complete within 5–7 days, though many finish within 24–72 hours. The process depends on how quickly your current registrar releases the domain and whether you approve the transfer via email. HOSXI's automated pipeline keeps the process as fast as possible.
No. Your domain continues to point to your existing DNS records throughout the entire transfer process. Your website, email, and all DNS-dependent services remain fully operational from start to finish. We transfer the registration — not your DNS settings.
An EPP code (also called an Authorization Code, Auth Code, or Transfer Key) is a password-like string that your current registrar issues to authorise an outbound transfer. You can find it in your current registrar's domain management dashboard under 'Transfer' or 'Security' settings. It is typically 8–16 alphanumeric characters.
Generally, you cannot transfer a domain that has already expired or is in a redemption period. If your domain expired recently (within the last 30 days), you may need to renew it at your current registrar first, then initiate the transfer. Contact our support team — we can advise on the best path for your specific situation.
Most domains are locked by default (a security feature). Before initiating a transfer, you must unlock the domain in your current registrar's control panel. This is usually a simple toggle in the domain settings. Some registrars call it 'Registrar Lock' or 'Transfer Lock'. Once unlocked, request your EPP code and proceed.
ICANN rules generally prohibit transfers within the first 60 days after initial registration or the last transfer. If your domain was registered or transferred within the past 60 days, you will need to wait before initiating a new transfer. This is a registry-level requirement, not specific to HOSXI.
